There are a few Romans who almost everybody has heard of, even though they lived and died such a long time ago. One of those is Julius Caesar who died in 44BC. Can you imagine people knowing who you were more than 2000 years from now?

 

There are two characters in The Leopard in the Golden Cage who actually existed: Lucy's father Lucullus, and the emperor of the time, Domitian. Here are a few snippets of information about them, as well as a little bit about Julius Caesar, Caesar Augustus (not the same person as Julius Caesar!), and Nero.
